Recognition that all people need access to adequate and appropriate programs and services regardless of geographic location, gender, race, level of disability and social, religious and economic circumstances.
Access & Equity
Covers all residents of Australia who may face barriers of race, culture, religion or language, including Aboriginal people and children of parents with non-English speaking backgrounds. The strategy seeks to ensure that these people have.
equal life chances and enjoy equitable access to and an equitable share of the resources which the Commonwealth Government manages on behalf of the community:
the opportunity to participate fully in society and in the decisions which directly affect them.
This policy recognises that while Government services may be universally applicable, they may not be universally accessible if they are uniformly designed and delivered.
