Audio Information
The Audio Information Service for Vision Impaired People provides this recorded service on a voluntary basis.
We bring regional news and events and a wide range of topics of general interest to those who have difficulty accessing printed matter.
It is free of charge to all.
The Tapes
The tapes are recorded weekly and there is also a monthly one.
The weekly tapes record news and events primarily of the Tweed Shire. The material is sourced from the Daily News and Tweed council's Tweed Link newsletter.
The monthly tape covers topics of general interest from Australia and around the world. It may also include items of historical interest and perhaps a poetry reading from one of our local poets from time to time.
We welcome comments from our clients as this feedback provides us with valuable information on improving the service.
Receiving & Returning Tapes
The tapes are mailed to you courtesy of Australia Post. They are placed in protective plastic pouches with a pocket into which we slide your personal address card.
It is important that you return the tape in the pouch so it can be reused for your next delivery. Just turn your address card over, as the reverse side has our address on it. There is no cost for return mail.
Please note:
Clients need to supply their own cassette player.
