We have a dedicated team of volunteers who bring a host of knowledge and skills to the service. We provide opportunites for volunteers -
Opportunities to work with the community in a community setting
Learn new skills - reception, computing, festival management, learning about community services available in the local area, learn relevant information to able to assist people in crisis
Training opportunities - we offer training opportunities to volunteers in child protection, OH & S, Festival production, emergency relief training, front desk training, parenting / children program's training & other training dependant on need & funding
We also offer work placement / supervision for Welfare & Youth Work students

Volunteer Positions Available
Bread Pick Up - Once a month Thursday 5.30pm to 6.45pm
Duties include - meet other volunteer at local bakery at 5.30pm, pick up bread, take back to Centre, bag into individual plastic bags, put in freezer, leave Centre. A monthly roster is provided with the date you are required to be on duty. Two volunteers are rostered on each shift. It is not necessary to own a car, we can make sure the other volunteer has a vehicle.

Unity Festival 14th November 2009 - Many positions are available:
Stage construction/dismantling, marquees, lighting, barriers, seating/tables, decorating, child care, market trader coordinator, ticket sales, cleaning/waste management, etc.

A Volunteer Induction day will be held on Saturday 17th October 2009 at the Murwillumbah Community Centre from 10am till 12 noon, followed by a FREE sausage sizzle. BYO drinks.
